The 26th annual Millstadt Weihnachtsfest (German Christmas Festival) takes place this Sunday, Dec. 8 at St. James Parish Center, 423 W. Madison Street. The craft fair opens at 10 a.m. and features holiday gifts, hand-crafted jewelry and decorative items. Home-made Christmas cookies will be offered for sale. German food will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. St. Nikolaus will arrive in a parade at noon. Entertainment will be provided by the Millstadt Community Choir, Waterloo German Band and St. Louis German Cultural Society Jugendgruppe dancers. Proceeds benefit Millstadt Sister Cities’ Youth Ambassador Exchange and other programs with Gross-Bieberau, Germany.
