Erik Kaiser

The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School baseball player Erik Kaiser.

The senior pitcher/first baseman anchored the Bulldogs pitching staff with a 3-3 record and 1.17 ERA.

He had 87 strikeouts in less than 60 innings. A

t the plate, Kaiser hit above .400 with six home runs and 41 RBIs. H

e was the winning pitcher in Thursday’s regional semifinal victory over Columbia and hit two home runs in Saturday’s regional final loss to Civic Memorial.
