A Columbia man was arrested on felony sex charges this week stemming from an alleged incident that occurred earlier this month.

Joshua L. Graves, 36, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Court information alleges that on Sept. 3, Graves committed a sex act with a female victim that is under 13 years of age. The alleged incident occurred at Graves’ place of residence in the 500 block of Columbia Avenue, police said.

Graves was picked up Sunday on an arrest warrant. The Columbia Police Department investigated the case.

He posted bond, which had been set at $25,000, and was released from the Monroe County Jail in Waterloo with his next scheduled court appearance to take place Oct. 26.
