Columbia Fire Department volunteers assisted at the scene of a truck fire inside a storage building at Lee’s Home Center in Millstadt on Friday evening.

Firefighters responded to the business, located on South Illinois Street in Millstadt, shortly after 6:45 p.m., observing heavy smoke. A parked truck inside an attached rear storage building of the store was eventually discovered to be on fire and was quickly extinguished.

The retail portion of the large hardware store was not affected by the fire.
