Betty Vee Smith

Betty Vee Smith (nee Limestall), 86, of Waterloo, died Sept. 2, 2015, in Waterloo.

She was born June 20, 1929, in Peoria, daughter of the late William and Liette Limestall (nee Hoffman).

Betty was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Waterloo and Red Bud VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She was a former teacher, nurse and Girl Scout leader.

She is survived by her children Terry (Doris) Kipping, Jenelle Palmer, Kim (Gerald) Straub and Jeff (Laura) Kipping; grandchildren Greg (Heather) Kipping, Christine (Dave) Otten, Melissa (Milton) Huebner-Sherfy, Cassy (Chad) Goldschmidt, C.J. Diehl, Liette (Jason) Goeddel, Stuart Straub, Bethany Kipping and Ethan Kipping; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Ida Mae Capron; brother Glenn (Doris) Limestall; sister-in-law Marcella Boehne; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands Ralph Smith and Gregory A. Kipping.

Visitation was Sept. 3-4, at Quernheim Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 4, at Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Waterloo, with Father Osang Idagbo C.M. officiating.

Interment followed at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy memorials may be made to Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Waterloo.
