Betty J. Beckerle

Betty J. Beckerle, 85, of Columbia, died Nov. 27, 2015, at Oak Hill Care Center, Waterloo.

She was born May 11, 1930, in Floraville, daughter of the late Frank and Helen Klein (nee Schoenborn).

She married Lawrence P. Beckerle on May 11, 1950, in Paderborn; he survives her.

Betty was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, and was a charter member of the Floraville Community Grange.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her children Lawrence T. Beckerle of Craigsville, W.V., Michael Beckerle of Waterloo, Vincent Beckerle of Columbia, Marie (Jerry) Kelley of Waterloo, Jane (Tom) Nobbe of Waterloo, Herbert (Traci) Beckerle of Columbia, and Lucy (Todd) Osterhage of Waterloo; grandchildren Brian Beckerle, Tara Phillips, Brandon (Kathy) Kelley, Lauren Kelley, Jared (Rebecca) Nobbe, Brad (Jennifer) Nobbe, Tyler Beckerle, Chelci (fiance Nathan Kremmel) Beckerle, Kelsey Osterhage, and Ashley Osterhage; great-grandchildren Augustus Kelley, Maliyah Phillips, Xandric Phillips and Aiden Nobbe; sisters, Anna Marie (Jack) Crowe of Freeburg and Cecilia (Eugene) Toenjes of Columbia; and sisters-in-law Valeda Brinkmann, Margaret Schaefer, Christy (Al) Lehr, Dottie (Ken) Kunkelmann, Ruth Herrmann, and Carol (Calvin) Fries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Theodore, Robert, Richard, Victor and Alvin Klein; sister Eileen Grau; daughter-in-law Joan Hensler Beckerle; and granddaughter-in-law Kelly Burk Nobbe.

Visitation is Dec. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m.,, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Dec. 5, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, with Fr. Carl Scherrer officiating.

Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Columbia.

As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions to: Immaculate Conception Church, or in the form of Masses.
