Bertha “Bea” Napier-Bauza | Obituary

Bertha  “Bea”  Napier-Bauza (nee Mace), 79, of Columbia,  formerly of Fairmont City, died Jan. 24, 2016, at Columbia Rehab and Nursing Center, Columbia.

She was born June 16, 1936, in Eldon, Mo., daughter of the late Oscar and Lily Mace (nee DeMott).

Bea was retired from Holiday Inn in California.

Surviving are her son, Dennis (Rose) Richardson; her step-children Virginia (Joe) Bauza-Cummings, Pauline Migneron, Donald Bauza, Eugene (Glenda) Bauza, and Mariah Hughes; three sisters, Wanda Hollis, Gladys Callahan and Lily Popp; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Louis Bauza and Jackson Napier; a daughter, Norma Lynn Richardson; her parents; two brothers, James Oscar Mace and Dewey Ross DeMott; and a sister, Phyllis DeMott.

Visitation is Jan. 31, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia.

Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Roger Reid officiating.

A private burial will take place Feb. 1, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
