The Waterloo High School golf team looks “great” this year, according to coach Dave Stites.

“They are all in uniform,” he said and laughed during a recent team photo shoot.

All kidding aside, the Bulldogs will feature a number of players this fall including Kaitlyn Storm, Kiersten Belt, Abbie Whitehead,                                           Whitney Stitzel, Haley Faus, Kasey Bradley, Vanessa Stitzel and Brooke Kean.

Stites has had a Faus in his lineup for five straight years.

The coach said keeping the ball in bounds will be the key this season.

“We cannot worry about the bad shots,” he said. “We just have to keep plugging away.”

Stites does not like to individualize the sport.

He just wants his players to continue improve as golf is a life-long game.

He also hopes his players continue to get better with each match they play.

“You’d like to think some of the incoming seniors will pick up the slack,” he said.
