History was made on Saturday.

The Waterloo High School football team played its first ever game in the Edward Jones Dome, home of the NFL’s St. Louis Rams.

The Great American Football Classic featured a showdown of conference rivals, the Waterloo Bulldogs and the Triad Knights. The Bulldogs (3-1) topped Triad (2-2), 28-0. This is the first time Waterloo has beaten Triad in football since 1998.

Waterloo seemed unstoppable in the first half, scoring all 28 of its points before heading in at halftime. Quarterback Arik Bueltman put on a show, along with Waterloo standouts Ethan Ruff, Justin Kretchmer, Drake Augustine and Clayton Bourgeious, just to name a few.

Check out the video of the sights and sounds from the Dome. To get the full story on the game, pick up a copy of this week’s Republic-Times — out on Wednesdays. Or, subscribe online today! Photos from the game are also available in the media store.
