Veronica M. Kettler

Veronica M. Kettler (nee Ehrstein), 90, of Millstadt, died May 4, 2013, in Millstadt.

She was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Stookey Township, daughter of the late Anthony and Rosa Ehrstein (nee Leingang).

She was married to the late Henry H. Kettler; he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kettler worked at Peter Pants Factory in Belleville, and later St. Elizabeth Hospital, Belleville. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, and the Altar Sodality. She loved to quilt, and she enjoyed working in her flower garden and playing cards.

Survivors include her daughters Rosemarie (Douglas) Mudd of Prairie du Rocher, Barbara (Elmer) Becherer of Trenton, Bernice (Albert Macy) Puckett of Columbia, Jo (Butch) Krieg of Belleville, and Melinda (Larry) Nobe of Venedy; along with 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons Donald H. Kettler and David Kettler, and her brother Anthony Ehrstein.

Visitation was May 7-8, at Strauss-Leesman Funeral Home, Millstadt.

Funeral services were May 8, at St. James Catholic Church, Reverend Father Marvin Volk officiating.

Interment followed at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville.

Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church, Millstadt, or Vitas Hospice, Fairview Heights.
