Thomas “Tommy” E. Lux | Obituary

Thomas “Tommy” E. Lux, 81, of Prairie du Rocher, died June 22, 2015, in Red Bud.

He was born Dec. 14, 1933, in St. Louis, son of the late Thomas Kelly and Nellie Lux (nee Page).

He married Marlene Braun on Sept. 29, 1956, in Mississippi; she survives him.

Mr. Lux was a sheet metal worker for Local #268 in Caseyville.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, and American Legion Post #622 in Prairie du Rocher. He served on the Prairie du Rocher Fire Department and the Village Board.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He loved fishing and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He played baseball and softball over the years and coached Khoury League. He also enjoyed playing euchre.

Survivors include his wife; daughters Donna (Brian) Koch of Red Bud, and Diane Bartlebaugh of Waterloo; grandchildren Jacki (Eric) Brand, Blake (Kelly) Koch, Whitney (Marshall) Cress, Andi (Dallas) Wilson and Jordan Bartlebaugh; and great-grandchildren Michael and Made Brand, Bryce Koch, Faith and Claire Wilson, and Rylan and Lux Cress; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Michael Lux and sister Dolly Louise Bauer.

Visitation is June 24, from 4 to 8 p.m., and June 25, from 8 to 9:15 a.m., at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated June 25, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Prairie du Rocher, Msgr. Daniel J. Jurek officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Prairie du Rocher.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church Renovation or the Prairie du Rocher Fire Department.
