Thomas Marcheski

Thomas L Marcheski, Sr., 77, of Red Bud, died Nov. 9, 2016 at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.

He was born May 2, 1939, in St Louis, son of the late Joseph J. and Helen Marcheski (nee Stephen).
He married Barbara A. Berghoefer March 1, 1969 in Cahokia.

He is survived by his wife; children June Kezely (Dave Rohlfing) of Red Bud, Cindy (Tim) Cowell of Prairie du Rocher, and Tom (Nicole) Marcheski, Jr of Red Bud; siblings Joseph (Virginia) Marcheski of Dallas, Ore., Pat (John) Johnston of Richland, Ore., and Judy Marcheski of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; grandchildren Brittany Stroh (Nick Lagrosso), Nathan Marcheski, Brooke Marcheski and Blake Marcheski; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thomas was a retired truck driver for Teamster Local #604 in St. Louis. For the past couple years, he had been a parts driver for Weir Chevrolet Buick GMC in Red Bud.

He was a Marine veteran and a member of the VFW Post #6632 in Red Bud. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and reading.

Thomas requested his body be donated to Washington University in St. Louis’ school of medicine.

Visitation is Nov. 12, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud.

Funeral services will be Nov. 12, at 3 p.m., at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, Pastor Lisa Hart officiating.
