South Market work to begin Monday

The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that South Market Street in Waterloo will be intermittently restricted to one lane between IL Route 156 and Route IL 3 beginning on Tuesday, June 7, weather permitting.

Road work will take place daily between 6 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., to construct a new asphalt overlay on this route. This work is expected to be completed by July 1.

Traffic delays should be expected. The traveling public is advised by IDOT to follow all construction signs and drive with caution through the work zones.

The contractor on this project is Keeley and Sons from East St Louis Illinois. Contact Joseph G. Gasaway, supervising field engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation, at (618) 346-3354 with any questions.
