Shannen M. Smith of Smithton and Matthew S. Helm of Waterloo have announced their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Brad and Marybeth Smith of Smithton. She is a graduate of Gibault Catholic High School and University of Missouri Columbia. She is employed as a third grade teacher at Kennerly Elementary School.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Philip and Jutta Helm of Waterloo. He is a graduate of Gibault Catholic High School and University of Missouri Columbia. He is employed as a pasta plant supervisor at Hodgson Mill.
The couple are planning a June 11, 2016, wedding.
