Two injuries were reported after a school bus rear-ended another school bus near Bluffview Elementary School in Dupo around 3 p.m. Friday.

Columbia EMS was called to assist Dupo police and EMS with the accident.

Police said a school bus pulled to a stop near the school, when another bus trailing behind failed to slow down in time and struck the first bus.

Each bus contained around 35 students.

One student was transported to Memorial Hospital in Belleville, while a second was taken to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis. Neither of the injuries appeared to be serious.

Other students suffered minor bumps and bruises, police said.
