This week’s Republic-Times Athletes of the Week are Valmeyer senior basketball players (from left) Ryan Unterseh and Zach Williams, who participated in the Country Financial Three-Point Class 1A Sectional Showdown in Okawville on Friday. Out of 16 shooters, there could only be four to advance to state preliminaries on March 12. Williams made 10 three-pointers out of 15 to advance. Unterseh tied for the final spot with another player, then won in a shootout to also advance. Unterseh and Williams are pictured with the T-shirts they won for advancing to state.
