Ruth Ann Roediger

Ruth Ann (Block) Roediger, 77, of Columbia, died Oct. 30, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, St. Louis.

She was born Sept. 19, 1935, in Columbia, daughter of the late Herman and Olivia (nee Roessler) Block. She was married to the late Eugene P. Roediger. They were married April 6, 1957, in St. Louis. He passed away on Sept. 29, 1990.

Ruth Ann was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbia, and was an honorary member of the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department. She had retired from Columbia National Bank. Watching her grandchildren play sports was her favorite pastime. She also enjoyed her daily red popsicle.

Surviving are her children, Debbie Roediger of Columbia, Mike (Deb) Roediger of Columbia, Laurie (Jon) Wehrenberg of Columbia, and Cindy (Larry) Murray of Columbia; grandchildren Ashley (fiance Jeremy Reichert), Erik, and Nick Roediger, Sami, Ryan and Chelsea Murray, and Lynsey and Collin Wehrenberg; sister Shirley Schumacher of Columbia; sister-in-law Mannie Block of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Herman Block; sister-in-law, Shirl Block; and brother-in-law, Lester Schumacher.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbia, with Pastor Steven Theiss officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Columbia.
