Route 3 Road Work In Columbia

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that on Thursday, April 23, road construction will begin in the southbound lane of Route 3, one-quarter mile south of South Main Street in Columbia, to patch areas where the pavement and shoulder are failing.

This work is to be completed by May 15.

IDOT asks that motorists look for construction signs, reduce speed, watch for slow moving or stopped traffic, and use additional caution when traveling near and throughout this work zone.

Flaggers will be utilized to direct traffic through work zone.

The contractor on this project is Keeley and Sons of E. St. Louis. If you have any questions concerning this project, contact Steve Putz, IDOT supervising field engineer, at 618-346-3350.
