Robert L. Griffin

Robert L.  Griffin, 84, of Waterloo, died Aug. 4, 2016, in St. Louis.

He was born Dec. 2, 1931, in St. Louis, son of the late William M. and Catherine Griffin (nee Shields).

Robert was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and Waterloo VFW Post 6504. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a volunteer at Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital, and Pipefitters Local 562.

He is survived by his, wife Nobue “Jeannie” Griffin; children Cathy (Steven) Ray, Cindy (John) Mosbacher, Bill (Angie) Griffin, Linda (Wayne) Doerr, and Tina (Mike) Zygmund; grandchildren Candy Ray, Christy Ray Kuntz, Eddie Kuntz, Ashley (Mac) Dickey, Christopher (Laura) Mosbacher, Jordan Griffin, Taylor Nadler, Kyle Zygmund, and Karleigh Zygmund; seven great-granddaughters; nephew Dennis (Sandy) Griffin; and niece Betty (John) Moll.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Thomas L. Griffin, brother Jerry T. Griffin, nephew Mike Griffin, sister-in-law Evelyn Griffin, and son-in-law Craig Nadler.

Visitation is Aug. 7, from 3 to 8 p.m.,; and Aug. 8, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Waterloo, Rev. Sebastian Ukoh C.M. officiating.

A private interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Human Support Services, Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, or in the form of Masses.
