Robert C. Myrick | Obituary

Robert C. Myrick, 90, of Columbia, died July 29, 2012, in Columbia.

He was born July 16, 1922, in Portage Des Sioux, Mo., son of the late Ernest and Ruth Myrick (nee Studer.)

He married the late JoAnn “Norma” Myrick (nee Tackett) on Sept. 17, 1949, in St. Louis; she preceded him in death on Nov. 24, 2010.

Mr. Myrick and his wife were the owners and operators of Myrick Feed in Valmeyer and Waterloo for more than 37 years. He was active with various local livestock feeding operations, and was a member of Columbia Blue Lodge 474 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Myrick loved his community and took every opportunity to share a story with anyone who would listen.

Survivors include his children Robert (Nancy) Myrick of Waterloo, Patricia (Dale) Shore of Waterloo, and Keith (Cindy) Myrick of Waterloo; grandchildren Megan (Dan) Menke, Monica Myrick, Ivy Myrick, and Cade Myrick; and sisters and brother Helen Thompson of Vandalia, Mo., June Nolan of Mexico, Mo., and William Myrick of Pea Ridge, Ark.; along with other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Myrick was preceded in death by his sister Ernestine Wallace.

Visitation was July 31-Aug. 1 at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbai, Rev. William Groennert officiating.

Interment followed at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia.

Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
