Raymond Joseph Ripplinger

Raymond Joseph “Joe” Ripplinger, 63, of Red Bud, died Nov. 4, 2016, in Belleville.

He was born Dec. 26, 1952, in East St. Louis, son of the late Raymond Jacob and Mary Ripplinger (nee Staub).

He is survived by his wife Deborah L. Ripplinger; children Charles Ripplinger, Jacob (Lindsay) Ripplinger and Ethan (Anna) Ripplinger; grandchildren Alexis Hicks and Trinity Ripplinger; sister Barbara (Anton) Vodvarka; longtime friend Billy Roscow; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joe was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church, where one of his proudest achievements was becoming a deacon of the church. He was retired from Missouri-Kansas-Texas “Katy” Railroad. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved watching University of Alabama football.

Visitation is Nov. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Nov. 11, from 9 to 10 a.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Nov. 11, at 10 a.m., at Concord Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, Pastor Will Hesterberg officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Maeystown.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Concord Presbyterian Church.
