Columbia Police

Aug. 6

Christina L. O’Neil, 30, of St. Louis, was arrested on a Monroe County warrant.

 

Aug. 10

Marvin Ware, 48, and Ruth J. Combs, 47, of Cahokia, were each arrested for retail theft and endangering the life of a child following an incident at Dollar General in Columbia. They are alleged to have taken various items from the store, including sunglasses, dog food, lotion, body wash and underwear, with a total value of around $150. Ware was also arrested for driving while license suspended.

 

Margaret A. Bacon-Hunter, 44, of Belleville, was arrested for domestic battery.

 

Aug. 13

Jake Augustine, 18, of Waterloo, was arrested for possession of cannabis on Cherry Street at Tower Hill.

 

Monroe County Sheriff

Aug. 9

Cody J. Gallagher, 23, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after the work truck he was driving went off the roadway and down an embankment along HH Road west of Bluff Road around 11 p.m. Both Gallagher and a male passenger in the truck declined medical transport.

 

Aug. 11

Michael P. Wiegand, 48, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI on Route 3 southbound at Sportsman’s Road.

 

St. Clair County Sheriff

Aug. 14

Columbia fire and EMS personnel assisted deputies following a rollover crash that occurred around 1:50 p.m. in the area of 2137 Imbs Station Road between Triple Lakes Road and Wagner Road east of Dupo. It is believed one person was taken to the hospital.

 

Waterloo Police

Aug. 8

Charges were filed against five persons in connection with a June 28 incident at Mystic Oak Golf Club in Waterloo that resulted in a golf cart having been burned to pieces and other damage. Charged with felony criminal damage to property are Dirk A. Denning, 18, of Millstadt, and Shelby W. Culpepper, 19, of Waterloo. Both are alleged to have “recklessly, by means of fire” destroyed the golf cart “in that they discarded a lighted cigarette into plastic shopping bags in a basket attached to the golf cart,” which ignited the bags and set it on fire. Denning and Culpepper were also charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing. Also charged with trespassing were Daniel J. Borisuk Jr., 20, Shelby E. Piatchek, 19, and Alissa M. Hitzemann, 20, of Waterloo. All were issued notices to appear in court on Sept. 6.
