Columbia Police

Aug. 7: John W. Lawrence, 57, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failure to appear in court and also for no rear registration plate light on Southwoods Drive at Admiral Parkway.

Danielle N. Scharf, 31, of Lenzburg was arrested for DUI and expired registration on E. Lepp Street at Main Street.

Aug. 8: Jaime L. Jaeger, 37, of Waterloo, was arrested on an in-state warrant for failure to appear in court on northbound Route 3 at
Bottom Avenue.

Illinois State Police

July 30: Kayla L. Presson, 21, of Missouri, was arrested for DUI on I-255 southbound.

Aug. 7: Heavy rains resulted in water on the roadway in multiple locations throughout the county. Two non-injury vehicle crashes were reported in the area of Route 156 at Edgewater Drive due to standing water. The first crash occurred there around 6:40 p.m., involving a pickup truck driven by Neal Rohlfing of Hecker with a female passenger inside, which reportedly hydroplaned. The next crash was a rollover shortly after 11 p.m. involving a vehicle driven by Donald Kenner.

Monroe County Sheriff

Aug. 6: A theft in the area of 8800 Gall Road is under investigation. A push mower was reported missing from an unlocked shed.

Aug. 10: Jeffrey McCarty, 56, of Belleville, was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage on Route 3 at Vandebrook Drive. Also cited in the traffic stop was Amanda Liefer, 31, of Red Bud, for illegal transportation of alcohol.

Waterloo Police

Aug. 8: A vehicle break-in in the 900 block of Kimberly Drive is under investigation. The victim reported money stolen from inside the
car.

Aug. 9: Police are consulting with the Monroe County state’s attorney on possible charges after someone apparently climbed the recently installed Kueker bison statue on the courthouse grounds and posted a photo of the incident on Facebook.

Aug. 10: Ronald Casey, 43, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage after the truck he was driving struck a utility pole in the 500 block of South Market Street across from Casa Romero.

Aug. 11: Corey Williams, 20, address unknown, was arrested for the attempted theft of a bicycle at 304 Hoener Street. A family member contacted police to turn over possession of their dog after it had bitten a child in their family sometime after
6:30 p.m. The child was taken to St. Anthony’s Medical Center by a family member.
