Oliver J. Hoock

Oliver J. Hoock, 87, of Millstadt, died Nov. 11, 2012, at Oak Hill Care Center, Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Millstadt, son of the late Bernard and Louise (nee Metzger) Hoock.

Ollie was owner and operator of Ollie’s Tavern in Columbia. He was a member of American Legion Post 581 in Columbia and the Monroe County Liquor Association. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II.

Surviving are special friend Sandra “Sue” Zera of Millstadt, nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Leonard, Clem, Herbert, James and Erwin Hoock; and sisters Alvera Hildebrand, Viola Baltz and Lucille Sager.

Private services will be held.
