The Red Bud High School volleyball team (2-1) is undefeated so far at the Marissa/New Athens Tournament, winning their first two matches against Mascoutah and Trico.

On Monday, coach Erin Legendre’s squad defeated Mascoutah, 25-16 and 25-19.

Senior middle hitter Brandy Reinhardt helped Red Bud get the win with eight kills and three solo blocks. Fellow senior libero Cassidy Melliere led the team with 10 digs alongside teammate Ali Ringering, junior setter, who had a whopping 13 service points and nine assists.

Red Bud then turned around Tuesday to beat Trico in an easy two games, 21-18 and 21-5.

Once again, Reinhardt led the team with seven blocks and eight kills. Melliere and sophomore outside hitter Jessica Otten led the musketeers to a ‘W’ with a total of nine digs between the two players and Melliere leading the pack with six serving points.

Red Bud plays its next game of the tournament on Thursday.
