Milton A. “Pat” Brueggemann | Obituary

Milton A. “Pat” Brueggemann, 85, of Hecker, died Oct. 9, 2012, in Hecker.

He was born Nov. 5, 1926, in St. Louis, son of the late Anton and Etta (nee Milam) Brueggemann.

Brueggemann was a member of St. Augustine Church in Hecker. He was a retired Monroe County Sheriff and retired from Illinois State Police, was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, member of the Rotary Club, Waterloo Sportsman’s Club, VFW, Illinois Sheriff’s Association, Hecker Community Center and Holy Name Society, and owner of Brookie’s Tavern in Burksville Station.

Survivors include daughters Elaine (Dennis) Biffar and Debbie (Charlie) Harbaugh; grandchildren Tony (Traci) Biffar, Jeff (Vicki) Biffar, Doug Biffar, Mary Harbaugh (fiance Reggie Neisler), Laura Harbaugh, Sarah Harbaugh and John Harbaugh; great-grandchildren Devin, Lucas, Emily, Brooke, Brady, Colton and Henry; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Mary K. (nee Fults) Brueggemann and a sister in infancy, Delores Brueggemann.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 14 and 8 to 9:15 a.m. Oct. 15 at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Funeral Mass is set for 10 a.m. Oct. 15 at St. Augustine Church in Hecker, Father Von Deeke officiating.

Burial will be at St. Augustine Cemetery, Hecker.

Memorials may be made to the family’s preference.
