A 39-year-old man was charged this week in connection with the discovery of a meth-making operation in Millstadt.

Police said that around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, members of the St. Clair County Special Response Team executed a search warrant at 221 West Oak Street, Millstadt. The warrant was served as a result of an investigation by the St. Clair County Drug Tactical Unit and the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team.

The warrant was served after the drug tactical unit received information in September that methamphetamines were being cooked inside the residence.

“This meth house was right in the middle of a nice neighborhood with children outside everywhere,” said Lt. Kurt Eversman.

Charged in the case is Anthony M. Schaub, 39, with aggravated participation in meth manufacturing, unlawful possession of methamphetamines and unlawful possession of meth manufacturing chemicals.

Shaub’s bond was set at $150,000.  He is still in the St. Clair County Jail.
