Columbia quarterback Logan Santanello is this week’s Republic-Times Athlete of the Week.

Santanello accounted for five touchdowns in Columbia’s 55-14 route over Freeburg.

Columbia is now 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the Cahokia Conference.

They will clinch their second consecutive playoff berth on Friday with a win at Breese Central.

Columbia will need another big performance from Santanello, who had a big homecoming game on Friday against Freeburg.

He scored two rushing touchdowns (80 and four yards). He also had three touchdown passes. Santanello finished with 290 total yards, including 185 yards passing. Santanello also intercepted a pass.
