Lady Bulldogs off to strong start on the links

The Waterloo High School girls golf team is on a roll.

Last Wednesday night, the Bulldogs finished in second place in a four-team tournament played at Mystic Oak, formerly The Ridge, in Waterloo.

Waterloo (6-1) finished 23 strokes behind first-place finisher Althoff, who won the tourney firing a 163.

Waterloo finished one stroke ahead of Civic Memorial, who shot a 191, and took home third place. Freeburg finished fourth.

Low medalist for Waterloo was Haley Faus, who carded a 42.

Other Waterloo scores were: Kaitlyn Storm, 44, Samantha Hopper, 46; Kasey Bradley, 48; Savannah Dill, 51; Vannessa Stitzel, 52; Whitney Stitzel, 52; Brooke Kean, 53; and Kiersten Belt, 54.

Storm earlier lead Waterloo (2-0) to their second victory of the season with her team low of 42 at Mystic Oaks.

The Bulldogs finished with a team score of 191, beating Collinsville by six strokes, with Roxana trailing with a team score of 205.

Other scores for Waterloo were: Belt, 45, Abbie Whitehead, 47, and Whitney Stitzel, 49.
