Josephine Devine | Obituary

Josephine Devine, 88, of McAllen, Texas, died Feb. 25, 2015.

Born in 1926 in Tipton, she lived in McAllen since 1952 with her loving husband of 65 years, James Devine.

Josephine was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church since 1952. An excellent baker, cook, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother, she was loved by all. She was a very kind person who helped many, always joyful and never saw bad in anyone. A great example for everyone.

The family would like to make a special thank you to Amy Miranda, her caretaker for the past four years. They also thank the kind and compassionate staff at Amara Hospice.

In addition to her husband, survivors include son Mike (Nancy) and his children  April (Edgar) and Michael; son Mitch (Lisa); daughter Debbie (Lee) and her children Taylor (Raymond), Lee and Dakota;  great-grandsons Jayden and Jace (April); great-grandsons Raymond Jr. and Malachi and great-granddaughter Gracie (Taylor).

Visitation was Feb. 27 at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen, Texas.

Funeral Mass was Feb. 28 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.

She will be in interred in the  cemetery on the grounds of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tipton, her childhood church.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s research.
