The 28th annual Waterloo Band Parents Community Variety Show takes place this Saturday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Waterloo High School auditorium.

A couple of highlights from the show will include a jazz flute duet played by Rachel Patterson and the chairperson of the first variety show, Karen Hodapp.

Performing several rock selections with the jazz band will be retiring band director Michael Mullins on electric guitar.

There will be plenty of vocals performers of all ages, including Taylor Flinn (fourth grade), Samantha VanEck (seventh grade), Abby Gray (12th grade) and Madelyn Lenz (WHS alumni).

In addition, there is a magic act performed by Dakota Bass, a saxophone quartet, a piano solo as well as several vocal duets.

The emcee for the show is John Whiteside.

Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Admission includes dessert.
