The 37th annual Waterloo Christmas Walk takes place Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24-25, with many events taking place on or around the courthouse square.

The activities begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with a book fair at the old fire station, 223 S. Main Street. At 10 a.m., participating shops open their doors for holiday sales. 

At noon, Santa arrives by carriage and will sit inside the Santa Hut by the courthouse bandstand until 4 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome. 

Free carriage rides will be offered from noon to 4 p.m. 

At 5:30 p.m., the GLOW Lighted Holiday Parade begins along Main Street.

On Sunday, participating merchants open at 11 a.m. Waterloo City Hall hosts an open house starting at that time, with coffee and peanut cake available.

Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen also opens at 11 a.m. inside the Oddfellows Hall, with cookies and candy available for purchase from the Waterloo High School Band Parents.

The Santa Hut will be open to visitors Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., with free carriage rides also offered.

The Waterloo Municipal Band performs on the courthouse square at 1 p.m. 

At 6:30 p.m., Hometown Harmony presents its annual Christmas concert at Hope Christian Church in Columbia.
