Effie Lorene “Babe” Sauer

Effie Lorene “Babe” Sauer, 92, of Speedway, Ind., passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1922 in Red Bud to Henry and Effie (Davis) Rosenberg.

Effie was a Charter Member of Messiah Lutheran Church at Eagle Creek and an avid sports fan.

She enjoyed supporting the Cincinnati Reds, Indiana University basketball, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers.

Effie is survived by her daughters Carol (Jim) Burton, Lois (Jimmy) Daniels and Debbie Hunter; grandchildren Kimberly, Kellye, Ashley, Mark, Mitch and Morgan; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Robin, Bennie, Clayton and Chloe; and brother Marvin Rosenberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orville William “Bob” Sauer and sister Marvelle Koch.

Visitation and funeral services were June 12, at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Home in Speedway.

Interment followed in Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church at Eagle Creek or the Indianapolis Humane Society.
