Eagles’ defense shuts down Dupo

By on September 9, 2012 at 1:40 pm

The Columbia football team combined a strong offensive game with a stingy defensive effort to defeat Dupo, 42-6, Saturday afternoon at Dupo High School.

The game was moved to Saturday due to the threat of severe weather on Friday night.

Columbia (2-1) scored 42 consecutive points, before Dupo scored their only touchdown with a little over seven minutes to play.

Columbia running back Charles Farris rushed for 115 yards on only 12 carries. He also scored three touchdowns (44 yards, 14 yards and five yards.)

But the story of the game might be the Eagles’ defense. The Eagles allowed Dupo only five net yards in the first half. Dupo also lost running back D. J. Rarden with a knee injury.
