Dorothy L. Nabers

Dorothy L. Nabers (nee Mueller), 77, of Valmeyer, died Dec. 15, 2015, in St. Louis.

She was born Dec. 26, 1937, in Belleville, daughter of the late Erwin G. and Lydia L. Mueller (nee Stoeckel).

Dorothy was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer, Women’s Fellowship, Monroe County Home Extension, Sisters Club, Cabinet of Ministry, and the Building Committee at St. John UCC.
She is survived by her husband Lowell Nabers; sons Keith (Chrissy) Nabers, and Todd (Cindy) Nabers; grandchildren Chelsea, Erica, Ryan, Aaron and Jared; sisters Pat Roever and Carol (Richard) Woodcock; step-sisters Carol (Roger) Hoffmann and Mary (Charles) Asselmeier; sisters-in-law Fanny Schellhardt and Maribeth (David) Rahe; step-sister-in-law Donna Mueller; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother Alice Mueller Hoffmann; brothers-in-law Homer Roever and Albert “Mannie” Schellhardt; step-brother Robert Mueller; parents-in-law AJ “Slim” Nabers and Seleschia; step-mother-in-law Olga Nabers; and nephew Joey Schellhardt.

Visitation is Dec. 18, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home, Waterloo; and Dec. 19 from noon to 1 p.m., at St. John United Church of Christ, Valmeyer.

The funeral will be Dec. 19, at 1 p.m., at St. John United Church of Christ, Valmeyer, Pastor David Riebeling officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Valmeyer.

As expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions to St. John UCC – Carpet Fund or White Cross Fund.
