Donna Risner

Donna Risner, 57, of O’Fallon, died Oct. 15, 2012, in Belleville.

She was born May 13, 1955, in St. Louis, daughter of Martha Kleffner (nee Poettkers) of Waterloo and the late Joseph Kleffner.

She married to Richard Risner on Nov. 13, 1981, at St. Clare Catholic Church; he survives.

Mrs. Risner was a legal secretary in medical records at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

Survivors include her mother; husband; children Leah (Luke) Gruchala of Shiloh, and Joseph Risner of O’Fallon; grandson Blake Gruchala; sisters Pam (Ray) Schmidt of Waterloo, and Terri Fischer of Columbia; mother-in-law Ruby M. Risner of Granite City; sisters-in-law Debra Evans (nee Risner) of Fairview Heights, and Sandy “Bill” McMasters of Granite City; nieces and nephews Alex, Lucas and Ben Schmidt of Waterloo, Garret Fischer of Waterloo, Whitney (Jonnie) Sones of Edwardsville, Michael S. (Connie) Battoe of Caseyville, Patrick (Ashlynn) Battoe of Belleville, Tami (Dean) Mortland of Alton, and Cameron McMasters of Granite City; and great-nephews Eli Sones, Christopher Battoe and Nicholas Battoe of Caseyville, Cayden Battoe of Belleville, Ryan, Jordan and Ian Rozicki.

Visitation and a Celebration of Life were Oct. 18, at Schildknecht Funeral Home, O’Fallon, Monsignor William Hitpas officiating.

Interment followed at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
