DeMond – Schield

Jennifer Marie DeMond and Christopher David Schield were united in marriage July 7, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Monsignor Dennis Schaefer officiating.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Brad and Diane DeMond of Red Bud; and the granddaughter of Louise Gregson and Mary DeMond, both of Red Bud.

The bridegroom is the son of Wayne and Betty Schmitz of Red Bud, and Ron Schield of St. Louis; and the grandson of Ron and Judy Schield of Belleville, and Olivia Schmitz of Red Bud.

The matron of honor was Nicole Doeschout, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jill Nobbe, cousin of the bride; Angie Paisley, friend of the bride; Leslie Larsen, friend of the bride; Emma McCarthy, sister of the groom; Morgan Lowry, friend of the bride; and Carrie Donjon, friend of the bride.

The best man was Dustin Kueker, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Ryan Kordys, friend of the groom; Andrew Stellhorn, friend of the groom; Andrew Langreher, friend of the groom; Jared Horrell, friend of the groom; Jeremy DeMond, brother of the bride; and Kyle Donjon, cousin of the bride. Grant Nobbe, godchild of the bride, and Lucas McCarthy, nephew of the groom, were ring bearers.

Jeff DeMond, brother of the bride, seated guests and served as lector. Guestbook and program attendants were Danielle Conway and Colleen Schield, sisters of the groom.

A reception was held at The Falls, Columbia.

Jennifer is a 2004 graduate of Gibault Catholic High School, a 2007 graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, and a 2009 graduate of McKendree University with a master’s degree in reading. She is employed as a first grade teacher at Millstadt Primary Center.

Chris is a 2004 graduate of Red Bud High School, and a 2008 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He is employed as a civil engineer for Jacobs Engineering.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica. They reside in Waterloo.
