Columbia wins at Breese Central, 25-0

The Columbia football team clinched a playoff spot and improved to 6-1 on the season with a decisive 25-0 road win Friday night at Breese Central.

The Eagles defense shut down the Central offense all night, and running back Lou Isringhaus continued his knack for finding the end zone.

He scored the first two touchdowns for Columbia. The first extra-point attempt failed, and the Eagles missed on a two-point conversion attempt, making it 12-0 early.

Columbia quarterback Jacob Hill completed a touchdown pass to Zach Mathews to make it 18-0 before the end of the first half.

The Hill-to-Mathews TD connection struck again with 3:50 remaining in the third quarter, making the score 25-0.

Columbia’s defense held strong the rest of the way in the Cahokia Conference victory.

In other Cahokia Conference action, Dupo lost on the road at Carlyle, 49-0.
