The Columbia girls golf team is on a roll.

On Wednesday, Eric Turner’s bunch qualified for the first sectional in school history. Columbia finished in third place at the Salem Regional, advancing to Monday’s Class A Teutopolis Sectional.

Columbia continues to get strong play from junior Allie Leingang and senior Megan Biscan. They finished shooting 82 and 86, respectively. Althoff won the regional, shooting 360. Alton-Marquette finished second, firing 380.

On Monday, Columbia will compete at the Teutopolis Sectional.

The Waterloo girls golf team will be represented at Monday’s Class A Effingham Sectional.

Haley Faus and Kasey Bradley advanced with eight other individual golfers from the Centralia Regional. Faus and Bradley carded a 91 and 102. But Abbie Whitehead missed qualifying by one stroke.

Waterloo, as a team, finished in fourth place. Only the top three teams (Nashville, Okawville and Pinckneyville) earn Sectional bids.
