The Columbia Ice Eagles hockey club is this week’s Republic-Times Team of the Week. The Ice Eagles recently completed their season after advancing to the second round of the MVCHA Varsity 2A playoffs by virtue of a game three shootout victory over rival Freeburg-Waterloo last Tuesday night.

Columbia finished the regular season with a record of 15-5-1. The Ice Eagles opened the second round with a 2-1 loss to O’Fallon.

Game two was played Tuesday night, with O’Fallon defeating the Ice Eagles 4-2 in Granite City.
