Columbia wide receiver Eric Read will never forget Saturday’s Class 4A playoff game against Mt. Carmel.

Read scored four touchdowns, leading Columbia to a 57-22 victory at Columbia High School. Read scored all four of his touchdowns from almost every possible vantage point. He caught one touchdown pass; scored another on a punt return; and returned an interception for a touchdown. He also added a 30-yard touchdown for good cause.

Charles Farris scored three more touchdowns.

Columbia (9-1) will find out later tonight who they will play next week in the second round of the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Dupo (6-4) and Waterloo (5-5) saw their seasons come to an end.

Maroa blew out Dupo, 54-6, in Saturday’s Class 1A playoff action at Maroa. Waterloo lost to Alton-Marquette,  28-21, at Alton City Park on Friday night. To read more on the Waterloo playoff game, click here.
