Clifford C. Asselmeier | Obituary

Clifford C. Asselmeier, 90, of Waterloo, died May 31, 2014 in Creve Coeur, Mo.

He was born Sept. 3, 1923 in Fults, son of the late Carl W. and Anna Asselmeier, nee Fischer.

Clifford was a U.S. Coast Guard World War II veteran, a member and Deacon Emeritus of Concord Presbyterian Church PCA in Waterloo, life member of Valmeyer American Legion Post 901, life member of Waterloo VFW Post 6504, DAV, Shriners, Scottish Rite, former mayor of Valmeyer, and was retired from Navy Brand Mfg. Company.

He is survived by children Charles C. (Mary) Asselmeier, John R. (Jane) Asselmeier, Joseph R. (Judith) Asselmeier and Kimberly H. (Dale) Sylvan; grandchildren Melissa M. (Rob) Roessler, Christina C. (Scott) Purtell, Andrew J. (Samantha) Asselmeier, Aaron J. Asselmeier, Rachel L. Sylvan, and Hannah K. Sylvan; great-grandchildren Trey and Tanner Roessler, Jack and James Purtell; brothers Clinton and Darryl (Janet) Asselmeier; sisters-in-law Alice Asselmeier and Helen Meillier; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen Asselmeier (nee Klein) and brother Carl “Bob” Asselmeier.

Visitation took place June 2 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo and June 3 at Concord Presbyterian Church in Waterloo.

A funeral service took place at the church June 3.

Interment followed at St. John Cemetery, Valmeyer.

Memorials may be made to Concord Presbyterian Church.
