As first reported last week, longtime owners Jerry and Kris (Diehl) Wittenauer are stepping down from their ownership post as part of the transition to a new business to be known as Diehl’s Floral & Gifts LLC.

“We looked at the current market and saw a need for a gift store, and decided it would compliment the floral shop and mesh perfectly,” Kris Wittenauer explained.

She will remain with Diehl’s as a certified master designer and will be joined by new owners Randy Ploeg and Delaine Dale. Dale has been with the company for many years and is a certified bridal consultant.

“They are all proud to continue the Diehl’s name and 62-year tradition as Monroe County’s florist,” Wittenauer said.

All of this is in an effort to expand the floral shop, which will offer all it has brought to the community for the past 62 years, but adding an expanded gift line that will include women’s accessories, fashion jewelry, Wally bags, Thymes fragrances, unique home décor, and new selections of permanent botanicals. Diehl’s is also expanding its wedding department, soon-to-be led by a personal wedding and event coordinator equipped with a newly remodeled consultation room and a bridal registry, plus other new services on the horizon.
