Betty J. Runge

Betty J.  Runge (nee Scheibe), 77, of Waterloo, died Sept. 24, 2016, in Waterloo.

She was born April 14, 1939, in Maeystown, daughter of the late Fred O. and Florence B. Scheibe (nee Rick).

She is a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, was a Eucharistic Minister of  the church, and served as church secretary under Father Ratermann and Father Seyer.

She is survived by her husband Fred W. Runge; children Cindy (Ralph) Dehne, Sandy (Dale) Scherle, Shelley (Dennis) Salger, and Craig (Christine) Runge; grandchildren Stephanie (Justin) Kadlec, Jennifer Dehne, Nicki (Jason) Kadlec, Branden (fiance Caitlin) Scherle, Darren, Erin, Aimie (Joe) Seiber, Jamie Salger, Michaela and Erica Runge; great grandchildren Jaden, Judsyn, Kinsey Kadlec; sisters and brothers Charlotte (Lavern)  Schmieg, Delbert (Janet) Scheibe, Wilbert (Sandy) Scheibe, Ruth Ann Scheibe; sister-in-law Rita (Tom) Benton; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Halbert and Alois Scheibe.

Visitation was Sept. 26-27, at  Quernheim Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 27, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Waterloo, Father Osang Idagbo C.M. officiating.

Interment followed at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Oak Hill, Hospice of Southern Illinois, or in the form of Masses.
