A Baldwin man was charged last week with sex crimes involving two underage females when the alleged acts were committed 10 years ago.

John R. Buckley Jr., 46, of 604 North Fifth St., Baldwin, has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony, and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.

The charges come following a Waterloo Police Department investigation.

Court information alleges that between June and August 2002, Buckley committed an act of sexual penetration with a young female who was under the age of 13 when the act was committed, and between April and August 2002, fondled a female who was under the age of 17 when the act was committed.

Buckley posted bond and was released with an arraignment date of Sept. 27 at the Monroe County Courthouse.
